Distance23 Km.

Stage of the Camino de Santiago: From O Cebreiro to Triacastela

This stage of the Camino de Santiago is one of the most interesting due to its varied geography and the beautiful landscapes of Galicia. From O Cebreiro, the pilgrim descends towards Triacastela, passing through several villages and crossing the famous Jacobean route to Compostela.

Descent from O Cebreiro

The route starts from O Cebreiro, descending along the slopes of Monte de Aréa. As you progress, the pilgrim follows the road until reaching Liñares, a small village located 3 km away. Here, the path veers to the left but quickly crosses the road again to ascend to the Alto de San Roque.

Hospital da Condesa and Ascent to Alto de Poio

From Hospital da Condesa, the Camino continues along the road until a new turn to the right. A few kilometres from here, the route crosses the village of Padornelo before facing the steep but brief ascent to Alto de Poio. This section is known for its difficulty, but the views reward the effort.

Fonfría and Descent Towards Biduedo

When approaching Fonfría, the path leaves the road on the right and begins the descent towards Biduedo. From here, the pilgrim crosses the road to continue towards Filloval, where the descent continues to As Pasantes.

Final Ascent and Arrival in Triacastela

From As Pasantes, the pilgrim follows a shaded descent through a corredoira (ancient stone path) until reaching Ramil. Just 1 km further, Triacastela is reached, the final destination of this stage.

Tips and Map of the Route

The Camino de Santiago map clearly shows the detours and points of interest of this stage, allowing pilgrims to orient themselves properly along the route. This stretch of the Jacobean path combines natural landscapes with urban sections, offering a unique experience on the journey to Santiago de Compostela.
