Stage of the Camino de Santiago: From Ledigos to Sahagún

Leaving Ledigos towards Terradillos de los Templarios

The stage begins in Ledigos, where pilgrims start their journey along the N-120. A few metres later, they leave this road and take the local road towards Población de Arroyo. After about 200 metres, the route turns left to follow a dirt path that leads to Terradillos de los Templarios, a picturesque village with strong Templar connections.

From Terradillos de los Templarios to San Nicolás del Real Camino

From Terradillos, the Camino follows a path parallel to the N-120 on its left side. After crossing the Villada road, pilgrims continue a few metres along this road and then take another path that, passing through Moratinos, leads to San Nicolás del Real Camino.

Crossing the Sequillo River and the Provincial Border

On leaving San Nicolás del Real Camino, pilgrims cross the Sequillo River (without a bridge) and soon reach the boundary between the provinces of Palencia and León. After crossing this provincial border, the Camino re-enters the N-120, which is followed for about 2 kilometres.

Drinking Fountain and the Hermitage of the Virgen del Puente

At kilometre 235.1, there is a drinking fountain located about 100 metres from the road, ideal for a break and to refresh. After crossing the Valderaduey River, the Camino turns right, following a path along the riverbank that leads to the Hermitage of the Virgen del Puente. This picturesque spot is surrounded by a beautiful poplar grove, and from here, pilgrims can enjoy a panoramic view of Sahagún, the final destination of the stage.

Arrival in Sahagún

The last section of the stage is along a dirt path that passes under a tunnel beneath the road and the railway tracks. Finally, the Camino reaches Sahagún through the San Martín district, completing this stage of the Camino de Santiago.
